Why Kentucky looks normal

My colleague Dana O'Neil is exactly right: The Kentucky Wildcats are, in fact, the team that's in the best position to beat the Kentucky Wildcats. And after needing three overtimes spread across two games to record wins against Ole Miss and Texas A&M, the Wildcats certainly appear to be doing all they can to beat themselves.

What happened to the team that crushed Kansas and UCLA? Two things, actually. First, UK really has appeared "disinterested and mopey," as Dana put it so well. Second, opponents have quite correctly deduced that their normal ways of doing things won't get the job done against John Calipari's team.
