South Florida Bulls
2012-13: 12-19 (3-15 Big East)
In-conference offense: 0.91 points per possession (15th in Big East)
In-conference defense: 1.07 points allowed per possession (13th in Big East)
The numbers are ugly. A 44.6 effective field goal percentage. An adjusted offensive efficiency rate of 98.8. Even a solid defense that couldn't finish stops, allowing offensive rebounds on 34.5 percent of opponent misses. Add those up, and it explains South Florida's most horrid stats: a 12-19 record with 12 losses over the final 14 games.
But coach Stan Heath thinks he can turn the Bulls' overall fortunes around by dealing with the root causes. "The issues we had this past season, we've addressed in a big way," he said.
