Trevor Lacey transferring to NC State

Trevor Lacey is headed to NC State.

Alabama's second-leading scorer from a year ago confirmed to ESPN.com on Monday night that he will transfer to the ACC school and play his final two seasons after sitting out the 2013-14 campaign.

The 6-foot-3 sophomore averaged 12.1 points and seven rebounds per game this past season.

He visited NC State and Pittsburgh and also considered Miami.

"I really wanted to play in the ACC," Lacey told ESPN.com. "And I felt a connection with Coach [Mark] Gottfried and the coaching staff."

NC State lost all five starters from this past season -- Richard Howell and Scott Wood graduated, C.J. Leslie and Lorenzo Brown left early for the NBA and Rodney Purvis transferred to UConn.

The Wolfpack will rely on returnee T.J. Warren and a five-man incoming class that includes Anthony "Cat" Barber this season.
