Despite having a payroll that is regularly the lowest in baseball, the Florida Marlins have managed to consistently put together a winning team. In order to win cheap, you must be able to find bargains and have an edge on the margins; these are two things that general manager Larry Beinfest has been able to accomplish regularly.
Because the Marlins have been so shrewd, it's all the more jarring when they make a move that seems so outrageous, which is why it's hard to believe the organization has decided to move Chris Coghlan to center field in 2011.
Remember "Bad Idea Jeans?" By all objective measures, Coghlan to center field fits right in with that spoof.
