There's a good argument that the best two teams in baseball are playing in the ALCS, as we had last year. The Angels and Cubs might dispute this, but either way we should get some good, competitive baseball.
When the Red Sox are up
• Even without Mike Lowell and with a hurting David Ortiz, this is a good lineup, deep with patient hitters who will put the ball in play and hit for at least doubles power. They're light on the long ball right now, however, because Ortiz appears to be unable to pull anything out unless it's on the inner half. They can hit enough singles and doubles and draw enough walks to score five or six runs in a game, but it's not the same type of offense that won two World Series for Boston this decade.
