There's no other way to put it. Summer league was mostly hard-to-watch basketball, with some excellent play mixed in. The talent was not down, as some suggested in the bleachers of all three summer courts. (Yes, this year's draft class saw a number of picks -- most notably Anthony Bennett, Alex Len and Nerlens Noel -- unable to play because of injury, but there were still plenty of future NBA starters running around the courts.) It's just that the summer game is not really about playing to a player's strengths, and it's easier to install solid defense than it is offensive actions or sequences (as we discussed here).
