It's been an odd season for NFL quarterbacks. On one hand, we're witnessing epic success by one of the most precise passing offenses in the modern era out in Denver. On the other, we're watching injuries absolutely ravage QB depth throughout the league, which has led to some tough decisions when compiling my quarterly QB Big Board (click here to view the midseason ranks).
To briefly review, my method is to rank every NFL starter in a way that demonstrates my confidence in his ability to go out and win me a Super Bowl on that day. Past performance plays a role, but the biggest factor is what he is showing me on film each week.
I doubt there will be much dispute surrounding my top four QBs. But I think I might surprise some people with No. 5.

I know, try to contain your surprise at Peyton's No. 1 standing. He's got four games remaining and he needs eight more touchdowns to math his career high of 49 in a season. Make it nine TDs and he'll match Tom Brady's 2007 record for single-season scores. San Diego (19 passing TDs allowed) sits right at the league midpoint in pass-TD defense. Oakland (22) and Houston (23) sit near the bottom. It's going to be a fun finish to watch.
