Instead of doing the usual rankings, given it's the halfway point in the season, I decided to put together an all-rookie team based on what we've seen so far.
Here are the parameters, same as always:
This is a measure for all games this season, not just the past few weeks.
Total snap count and starting matters. Staying on the field is a measure of value.
Relative value matters. I ask: Would this player be a starter on most teams or on a good team?
Here's your midseason all-rookie team.
Offense
Quarterback: Jameis Winston
Marcus Mariota has been more efficient, but he missed time, and Winston is showing improvement as the team improves. He has now gone a month without an interception.
Running backs: Todd Gurley and T.J. Yeldon
A healthy Gurley is a star, and he's on pace to easily crack 1,000 yards. Yeldon could get there, too, if he stays on the field. I have to mention Duke Johnson Jr. here, on pace for 70 catches for the Browns.
Fullback: Jalston Fowler
Fowler edges out Michael Burton (Lions) and Aaron Ripkowski (Packers).
