This is the third part of an eight-part series in which Football Outsiders looks at the biggest holes remaining on each team going into the offseason. Remember, some of these holes might not actually be holes if teams re-sign their own players, and other holes will be filled during free agency and the draft.

Today, Outsiders looks at the NFC East.

Dallas Cowboys: Cornerback, guard

The Cowboys' top three cornerbacks missed a combined nine games with injuries this past season. And when they were on the field, they gave up big chunks of real estate to opposing receivers. Overall, our numbers ranked the Cowboys' defense 19th against opposing No. 1 receivers and 31st against No. 2 wideouts. Dallas ranked seventh against all other wide receivers, which indicates that it had more depth at cornerback than most other teams, but its top corners were so bad that it hardly mattered.
