Atlanta Falcons are overrated

In New England, the Patriots threw (or should I say kicked) it all away. Out in Seattle, the Dallas Cowboys decided they didn't like the positive press that Week 1 got them. While out in Carolina, the New Orleans Saints continued to show how much Sean Payton means to them. It was just another wild week in the NFL.

But while it provided some stunning results, we shouldn't get ahead of ourselves. It's still just Week 2, and how often does the team that starts off hot finish that way?

Let's look at the most overrated and underrated team this week in ESPN's NFL Power Rankings.

Overrated -- Atlanta Falcons

They're 2-0 and everything seems to be going right for the Falcons. Matt Ryan is playing exceptionally well, the defense is creating turnovers and their biggest rival in the NFC South is imploding. It's a dream start.

But what makes them the third best team in the NFL? Is it the offense -- a unit that can't run the ball with the increasingly plodding Michael Turner getting stuck behind an offensive line that has never recovered from losing Harvey Dahl? Through two games they're averaging just 3.0 yards per carry and getting next to nothing from their backs, who have forced a total of three missed tackles on 51 carries. Reggie Bush did that on one run.
