Another exciting match at the FIFA World Cup 2022 with Croatia finishing third in the tournament after beating Morocco 2-1. The first-half goals made the difference with Josko Gvardiol and Mislav Orsic scoring for Croatia. Achraf Dari netted a goal for Morocco but despite pushing hard, they couldn't find the equaliser.

At 20 years and 328 days, Josko Gvardiol became the youngest Croatian to score at the World Cup.

Ivan Perisic has five World Cup assists in his career. He's tied with Antoine Griezmann for the second most World Cup assists since 2014. Lionel Messi has six in that time span.

Perisic has been directly involved in 11 FIFA World Cup goals across the last three tournaments -- six goals and five assists. Only Lionel Messi is ahead of him with 16 direct goal involvements.

Perisic has the most number of goal contributions for Croatia at the major tournaments. Ten goals and eight assists. Next best is Davor Suker who has 10 goal contributions.

Croatia lost only two matches out of 14 they played since the previous World Cup. The defeats came against France in the 2018 World Cup final and Argentina in this year's semifinal.

Since making their tournament debut in 1998, Croatia have three top-3 finishes at the FIFA World Cup. Only France and Germany have more in that span (4).

Morocco's Hakim Ziyech and Achraf Hakimi have now made 10 appearances at the FIFA World Cup. They've both equalled Saudi Arabia's Mohammed Al-Daeyea record of most appearances for an Arab player at the World Cup.
