    Craig Mackail-Smith grabs late winner as Wycombe win at Crewe

    Craig Mackail-Smith grabbed a stoppage-time winner as Wycombe won 3-2 at Crewe amid a frantic finish.Aston Villa youngster Harry McKirdy appeared to have earned Crewe a point with a late equaliser, but the Chairboys substitute made the most of some slack defending to poke the ball home.Veteran striker Chris Porter's early penalty was cancelled out by Paris Cowan-Hall and substitute Nathan Tyson forced home from close range after which Crewe boss Dave Artell was sent to the stands for protesting.The high-flying Chairboys got off to the worst possible start when Nathan McGinley was adjudged to have tripped Charlie Kirk and Porter beat keeper Scott Brown with the sixth minute spot kick.Gareth Ainsworth's side rallied and Luke O'Nien wasted a good chance when keeper Ben Garratt parried the ball to his feet, but the midfielder lifted his effort over.Some sustained Crewe pressure ended with Eddie Nolan's thumping header flying a yard wide of the Chairboys' goal.But the struggling Railwaymen looked resolute in defence with Michael Raynes in excellent form until Adebayo Akinfenwa headed on Joe Jacobsen's free kick and Cowan-Hall rifled a half-volley into the far corner with an hour gone.Then Akinfenwa played a decisive presence in the box again, setting up Tyson for Wycombe's second from close range with eight minutes to go.Crewe substitute McKirdy drove in the rebound after Ryan Wintle's shot was parried by Brown with two minutes remaining, but Mackail Smith poked home deep in stoppage time.

      Sam Cosgrove snatches winner for Carlisle

      Striker Sam Cosgrove scored his first goal for Carlisle as they completed a winning double over Crewe with a 1-0 victory at Brunton Park.Cosgrove signed a new deal until the end of the season in the build-up to the game and it was his header in the 76th minute that proved decisive.Crewe came within inches of taking a fifth-minute lead after a slick move involving Callum Ainley and George Cooper sent Jordan Bowery sprinting clear. He went round advancing goalkeeper Jack Bonham but slid his shot against a post.Again it was the Alex forcing the pace as Eddie Nolan whipped a low ball across the face of the Carlisle goal with no-one on hand to convert the chance.Carlisle skipper Danny Grainger powered a 25-yard effort inches past Ben Garratt's right-hand post and it was another defender, James Brown, who had the home side's best first-half effort when he got forward to hammer a shot from the edge of the area which flew narrowly wide.Chances were scarce after the break, although Crewe almost profited from a 62nd-minute mix-up between Grainger and Bonham, but with the goalkeeper off his line, Cooper hoisted his lobbed effort onto the roof of the net.Cosgrove had the ball in the net for Carlisle but was ruled offside. But the stalemate was broken in the 76th minute when Cosgrove headed Carlisle in front at the far post from a cross by Tom Parkes on the left.A point-blank save by Garratt from Richie Bennett's shot prevented Carlisle from doubling their advantage in the closing minutes.
