Newly-crowned champions East Fife crashed to their first defeat since February as 10-man Berwick continued their impressive end to the season with a 2-0 win.
Second-half goals from Blair Henderson and Darren Lavery secured a sixth victory in eight matches for Berwick, who lost Jordan McGregor to a 78th-minute red card but still claimed the points.
East Fife were given a guard of honour by the Berwick players before the match at Shielfield after clinching the League Two title last time out, but they received no such courtesies once the whistle went.
Berwick took the lead in the 72nd minute when top scorer Henderson headed home Allan Walker's cross.
The hosts lost McGregor to a second yellow card soon after, but East Fife could not take advantage and Lavery's stoppage-time goal, following another Walker cross, settled matters.
