Relegated MK Dons ended their disappointing season with a 1-0 win at high-flying Shrewsbury.
Kieran Agard proved to be the difference after scoring a 63rd-minute penalty for the side which will play League Two football next season.
Dons were first to threaten when Callum Brittain's low shot was comfortably stopped by goalkeeper Dean Henderson.
Shrewsbury, who will face Charlton in the semi-finals of the play-offs, then went close from two Shaun Whalley corners as James Bolton and then Aristote Nsiala both headed just wide.
Abo Eisa was next to go close for the home side when he exchanged passes with Jon Nolan and fired in a shot from 20 yards, but his effort was pushed away by goalkeeper Wieger Sietsma before Brittain then tested Henderson at the other end.
Carlton Morris went close to a breakthrough for Shrewsbury at the start of the second half when his header was touched on to the top of the crossbar by Sietsma.
However, Agard showed composure to convert his spot kick after he brought down by Nsiala just after the hour-mark.
