Nice were held to a 0-0 draw at Montpellier on Friday that maintained their unbeaten start to the season but offered their rivals a chance to knock them off the Ligue 1 summit.

Nice are top with 26 points, two points ahead of Paris Saint-Germain in second and three clear of AS Monaco in third.

Both PSG and Monaco will have the chance to move ahead of Nice when they play their respective matches on Saturday.

Nice are on the longest current unbeaten run of any club in Europe's top five leagues, without a single league loss this season, having conceded only four goals.

Both teams were cautious in an uneventful first half, before the tempo increased after the break, with the hosts going closest to scoring when Akor Adams' header hit the post around the hour mark.

Nice, who are on their longest unbeaten streak since 1967, next face Toulouse on Nov. 26, while Montpellier, who are 12th with 12 points, play Brest the same day.
