Chelsea boss Thomas Tuchel named a strong side for Saturday's clash, with 10 senior players named in the starting XI and defender Lewis Hall, 17, making his senior debut.

Chesterfield, who play in the fifth-tier of English football, were one of four non-league sides still in the competition entering the third round.

Werner opened the scoring on six minutes when the ball fell to him in front of an empty net after Chesterfield goalkeeper Scott Loach parried a shot from Zyiech.

Hudson-Odoi dented Chesterfield's hopes of an FA Cup upset with a superb curled strike from just outside the box into the far corner.

Lukaku added a third from close range on 20 minutes, his first goal since apologising for an interview he gave to Sky Italy in which he said he was frustrated at the club.

Things went from bad to worse for Chesterfield when Christensen looped a header following a parried shot from teenage teammate Hall.

Winger Christian Pulisic won a penalty after being brought down inside the 18-yard box on 55 minutes, and Ziyech was on hand to dispatch the spot-kick.

Chesterfield gave their fans a reason to cheer late on when striker Kabongo Tshimanga stepped past Chelsea's Malang Sarr and Lewis Baker before seeing his shot parried to teammate Asante, who slotted home into an empty net.
