      Ayr stay top after comfortable win at Stranraer

      Ayr maintained their lead at the top of Scottish League One with a 5-1 win at Stranraer who dropped out of the promotion play-off spots as a result of the defeat.Lawrence Shankland and Alan Forrest netted a brace apiece, with Michael Moffat also getting on the scoresheet for Ayr.Shankland opened the scoring after eight minutes and Moffat extended Ayr's lead six minutes before the break.Forest netted Ayr's third (49), Shankland got his second eight minutes into the second half and Forest completed his double with 27 minutes remaining. Kyle Turner (80) got Stranraer's consolation.Second-placed Raith Rovers kept up the pressure on the leaders with a narrow 3-2 win away to East Fife.Scott Roberton put Raith ahead after eight minutes but Kyle Wilkie levelled for the home side.Liam Buchanan restored Raith's lead before Scott Linton drew East Fife level once more, only for Dario Zanatta to decide it with the final goal 11 minutes from the end.Alloa remain third after coming from behind to draw 2-2 at home with strugglers Queen's Park.Ross Stewart gave Alloa the lead early on only for Queen's Park to go in front through Luke Donnelly and an Adam Cummins penalty. Kris Renton earned Alloa a draw when he scored with five minutes remaining.Arbroath moved into the play-off spots with a 1-0 win at bottom side Forfar thanks to Leighton McIntosh's goal two minutes before half-time.Scott McLaughlin scored a late equaliser from a corner to earn Airdrie a 2-2 draw at Albion Rovers.Alan Trouten (57) and Dean Cairns (75) had both put Albion ahead but Willis Furtado (70) and McLaughlin ensured the spoils were shared.

        Peterhead hit back to keep survival hopes alive as Stenhousemuir go down

        A late comeback saw Peterhead avoid automatic relegation from Scottish League One and condemned Stenhousemuir to the drop.Peterhead started the day bottom of the table, but recovered from 2-1 down to beat Alloa 3-2.That left Stenhousemuir needing a win, but they could only draw 1-1 with Brechin.Iain Flannigan gave Alloa a 29th-minute lead with a low effort from 12 yards, but Rory McAllister equalised eight minutes after half-time.Adam Martin restored Alloa's advantage on the hour mark, but with relegation looming Peterhead levelled through Grant Anderson and Jordan Brown fired the winner from six yards with 10 minutes remaining.The Blue Toon are not safe yet, as they face a relegation play-off with three sides from League Two.Stenhousemuir found themselves behind after only five minutes as Alan Trouten's penalty put Brechin ahead following Mason Robertson's foul on Alistair Love.Oli Shaw equalised after 62 minutes, but a 1-1 draw ensures they will be playing in League Two next season.Brechin's point secured their place in the promotion play-off, and Airdrieonians beat Queen's Park 3-2 to earn their place in the end-of-season shake-up.Dario Zanatta put Queen's Park ahead, but Andy Ryan struck either side of half-time to give Airdrieonians the lead.Kalvin Orsi's low effort drew the visitors level, but less than a minute later Iain Russell converted Scott Stewart's pass for the winner.Runaway champions Livingston signed off with a 2-0 win over Albion, with Scott Pitman and Raffaele De Vita on target.

          Champions Livingston extend winning run to seven by beating Queen's Park

          Livingston recorded a comfortable 4-0 victory over Queen's Park at Almondvale Stadium as the Scottish League One champions extended their winning run to seven games.Nikolay Todorov latched on to Danny Mullen's great ball forward to hand the home side their opener, poking it beyond the goalkeeper and into an empty net.Mullen doubled their lead midway through the second half, while provider for the second - Declan Gallagher - claimed another assist as he set up Josh Mullin with 10 minutes remaining and Nicky Cadden completed the scoring at the death.Alloa, who sealed their spot in this season's play-offs with last weekend's 6-1 mauling of Brechin, only needed one goal to claim maximum points from their 1-0 victory over Airdrieonians at Excelsior Stadium.After a goalless first half, the visitors broke the deadlock as Jordan Kirkpatrick picked out the top corner with his 14th goal of the season after 66 minutes.East Fife strengthened their play-off hopes as they moved up three places to third - level on 46 points alongside Brechin, Airdrieonians and Queen's Park - after a narrow 1-0 win over Albion at Cliftonhill.Chris Duggan set up Jason Kerr just after the hour mark and he made no mistake, firing the ball into the bottom-left corner, but Duggan then saw red as he was shown his second yellow card for alleged diving with seven minutes remaining.Oli Shaw's 12th-minute winner kept Stenhousemuir in with a shout of the relegation play-off spot as the basement boys completed a narrow 1-0 home victory over second-bottom Peterhead.Brechin moved into the last play-off spot after they were held to a goalless draw against eighth-placed Stranraer at Glebe Park.

            Livingston are promoted to Scottish Championship after win over Alloa

            Livingston secured promotion to the Ladbrokes Scottish Championship with a 2-1 home win over nearest rivals Alloa which also won them the League One title.Leaders Livi had gone into the game needing just a point to go up and they did enough despite a nervous finish.Livingston went ahead after 16 minutes through Scott Pittman who hit a rising shot from distance into the top corner.Jackson Longridge doubled their lead four minutes into the second half when he curled in a shot after cutting in from the left wing onto his right foot.But Dylan Mackin's goal after 67 minutes ensured a nervous finish for the home fans before the celebrations could begin.Iain Russell scored twice as Airdrie beat Brechin 3-1 to move into third place and strengthen their play-off hopes.Russell put Airdrie in front after 20 minutes when Kyle Hutton won possession and teed up the captain to score and Kieran MacDonald doubled the advantage three minutes later.Jack Leitch's own goal in first half injury time put Brechin back into the match but Russell made it 3-1 to Airdrie with his second goal 11 minutes into the second period.Stenhousemuir boosted their survival hopes with a 3-1 home win over East Fife as Willie Furtado scored twice.Furtado gave Stenhousemuir the lead just before half-time but Chris Kane drew the visitors level early in the second period.Colin McMenamin's penalty just after the hour put Stenhousemuir back in front and Furtado got his second with 11 minutes to go to make it 3-1.Paul Willis, Ryan Wallace and a Morgyn Neill own goal gave Albion a 3-0 home win over Stranraer.Queen's Park defeated Peterhead 2-0 with goals from on-loan Hearts forward Dario Zanatta and Ryan McGeever.

              Livingston snatch late win at Stranraer to extend lead

              Leaders Livingston left it late to secure a 1-0 win at in-form Stranraer.Liam Buchanan scored with six minutes left to extend Livi's lead to nine points at the top of Ladbrokes League One.Stranraer sit two points above the relegation play-off position after their first loss in eight games.Buchanan's strike was one of just four managed in the division on Saturday.Two of those came late on at Hampden Park as Queen's Park drew 1-1 with Brechin.City seemed set to move up to third after Andrew Jackson's 84th-minute strike but Ryan McGeever levelled for the hosts six minutes later.The only other goal in the division was scored by Iain Russell as Airdrie won 1-0 at home against bottom side Stenhousemuir.David Marsh earned a straight red for the visitors with six minutes left for a foul on Iain Russell.The win saw Airdrie move level on points with Brechin and East Fife but they remain outside the play-off places on goal difference.Second-place Alloa's four-match winning run came to an end as they were held to a goalless draw by third-placed East Fife while Albion against Peterhead also finished goalless.

                Leading Lions wounded by Fifers

                Ladbrokes League One leaders Livingstone suffered a surprise home loss to third-placed East Fife.A late Jason Kerr goal condemned Livi to a 1-0 defeat - their first in seven matches.Second-placed Alloa took advantage, winning 2-1 at home to Stenhousemuir to reduce Livingston's lead to seven points.Dylan Mackin put the hosts ahead just before the break but Thomas Grant equalised soon after the hour only for Greig Spence's late penalty to prove decisive.Sean McIntosh's 90th-minute goal earned Airdrie a thrilling 4-3 win at Albion Rovers.Airdrie's Jack Leitch scored the only goal of the first half but Ross Davidson equalised just after the break, only for Andy Ryan to restore the lead two minutes later. The advantage did not last long as a Ryan Wallace penalty just after the hour levelled proceedings.Iain Russell put the visitors back ahead on 76 minutes but Wallace equalised again a minute before McIntosh's winner. There was still time for Airdrie's Kyle Hutton to see red.Brechin were 1-0 winners at Peterhead thanks to Andrew Jackson's 60th-minute goal.Stranraer drew 1-1 at home to Queen's Park, Craig Malcolm equalising Ross Millen's penalty before Ross Millen was sent off late on.
