      Relegated Bury hit back to earn draw at AFC Wimbledon

      Bottom-side Bury came from behind to end their three-year stay in League One with a 2-2 draw against AFC Wimbledon.Dons midfielder Dean Parrett put the hosts in front with a superb half-volley after Barry Fuller's long throw fell to him at the back post.Kwesi Appiah doubled their advantage after 34 minutes, firing past the luckless Joe Murphy for his third goal for the club after hesitation in the Shakers' backline.Captain Neil Danns brought Bury back into the game after 66 minutes, curling into the top corner after Dons goalkeeper George Long had come off his line to parry Jay O'Shea's deep cross.Substitute Andy Barcham then struck the bar with a 20-yard volley for Neal Ardley's Dons, who ended the season seven games unbeaten. However, the Shakers earned only their 11th away point of the campaign courtesy of George Miller, who met O'Shea's delivery to head home late on. The game was soured by injuries to Dons' highly-rated leading scorer Lyle Taylor and 18-year-old Bury defender Ryan Cooney, who were both stretchered off after lengthy delays. Bury only won once away from Gigg Lane in the league all season and struggled against the tempo of Wimbledon's play in the opening half.Yet they almost completed the most unlikely of comeback victories in the 89th minute as Miller met Ismail's drilled cross into the box only to fire over the bar.

        AFC Wimbledon secure survival with Doncaster stalemate

        AFC Wimbledon earned the point they needed to ensure League One survival as they drew 0-0 at Doncaster.In a game of few chances, second-half substitute Kwesi Appiah twice went close late on for the visitors, but it was a case of job done for Neal Ardley's men.Dean Parrett smashed a shot over the crossbar early on for Wimbledon, before Rovers goalkeeper Ian Lawlor comfortably saved Joe Pigott's header. The hosts finally had their first shot at goal after 25 minutes, with Niall Mason lashing a drive well wide.Alfie May had a shot blocked for Rovers, before Jon Meades fired narrowly wide at the other end.After a tepid first half, the second 45 minutes started much brighter and Rovers almost took the lead when John Marquis' close-range header was saved by George Long.Ben Whiteman forced Long into a decent save low to his left as Doncaster threatened to get on top.Appiah, though, very nearly gave Wimbledon the lead with their first shot of the second half in the 75th minute but his clever hooked effort landed on top of Lawlor's net.Appiah went close again, with a 10-yard shot being diverted narrowly past Lawlor's left-hand post, before referee John Brooks brought the game to an end, sparking much jubilation amongst the 482 away fans.

          Michael Jacobs equaliser moves Wigan closer to League One title

          Wigan will have to wait another week to get their hands on the Sky Bet League One title following a 1-1 draw with struggling AFC Wimbledon at the DW Stadium.Michael Jacobs netted the equaliser, cancelling out Joe Pigott's first-half opener, to leave Latics two points clear of second-placed Blackburn with one match remaining. The visitors shocked the home fans by taking the lead after 24 minutes through Pigott, who took delivery of a lovely pass from Lyle Taylor before slipping the ball past Christian Walton.It was almost 2-0 within four minutes, when Walton had to pull off a fabulous save to deny Dean Parrett.Wigan were struggling to find the form that's seen them top the division for much of the season, and sent on Nick Powell and James Vaughan from the substitutes' bench on the hour to try to make a difference.Within nine minutes, the home side had equalised with Jacobs finding the bottom corner, via a slight deflection.And the final quarter was all Wigan, who knew a single goal would be enough to secure them the title.However, they found Wimbledon goalkeeper George Long in imperious mood, with Ryan Colclough and then Will Grigg somehow thwarted from point-blank range in a frantic finale.
