Four-star DE Channing Ward (Aberdeen, Miss./Aberdeen) took his second official visit last weekend. Ward, who's No. 72 in the ESPNU 150 and the No. 9 defensive end, visited Auburn.

“It was a great trip,” Ward said. “I spent a lot of time with the coaches. I wanted to see what they were really like. I wanted to see how the people were both in the program and outside the program. I found the people there treat you great. I had a chance to hang with the players and spend some time with them. Overall, it was a really good visit.”

One thing recruits talk about when visiting Gene Chizik and his Tigers program is the atmosphere created by the coaching staff amongst the players. Did Ward get the same feeling?

“I did,” Ward said. “I really got that feeling. They are a big family. Sure, when it’s game time they are all business. But when it’s not it feels like a family there. It really does. I liked that a lot.”

Ward, 6-foot-4 and 250 pounds, is an Under Armour All-American. He took his first official visit to LSU on Oct. 7. This weekend he will unofficially visit Alabama for the LSU game. He is also considering Mississippi State, Ole Miss and the Crimson Tide.
